I don't view it as out of place at all in the roughly 4 hours of original soundtrack which also features rock, drum and bass, ambient and j-pop among other styles. I thought the music for Sazh reflected all of that, or rather Sazh's journey is reflected in the music. Facing the reality of losing his son and having already lost his wife, he still says things that make you believe he is fundamentally an optimist, but has dealt with enough misfortune for one lifetime. And despite the gravity of the situation he is in, he still has humour with a gentle sardonic wit to it. He tires of the life of the fugitive and visits Nautilus Park so he can tell Dajh about the Chocobos before turning himself in, fully aware that it may result in his execution. He refers to Primarch Dysley as "murderer in chief" and despite not being part of Cocoon military, suspects purge victims are executed rather than exiled. He doubts the truth of Sanctum propaganda and expresses disdain of the people who take it at face value. What? Sazh is a single father who is never entirely comfortable with the idea of living the life of blissful ignorance that so many Cocoon natives do.
